Join us in April!
Join the Missouri Women’s Chorus on Sunday, April 24th at 3:00 PM in the sanctuary of Union Avenue Christian Church for a special concert marking ten years of making extraordinary music together. The performance, entitled Only in Dreams looks back at the rich diversity of music the group has explored over the past ten years in addition to several new pieces including the evocative “There Will Come Soft Rains” by Sara Teasdale and Kevin Memley, and a beautiful new arrangement of “Shenandoah” by Howard Helvey. Madrigals, music from 17th Century Italian convents, a few chorus favorites from composer Gwyneth Walker and Eric Whitacre, and Randell Thompson’s ethereal “Alleluia, Amen” round out this celebration of choral beauty. Special guest musicians Eileen Burke (oboe and English horn) and Victoria Voumard (violin) join pianist Nancy Mayo and the chorus led by Artistic Director, Scott Schoonover. Come help us celebrate these past ten years as we plan the next decade together! Immediately following the concert, the choir will host an informal reception with light refreshments.
